This half-day course will introduce you to initiatives that reduce absenteeism and guide you on how to support staff and manage medical incapacity.

Course Overview

In this live and virtual half day course, discover how to reduce absenteeism, support staff returning from sick leave, and manage medical incapacity.

This course will focus on how to dramatically reduce absenteeism by addressing factors that contribute to sick leave, like bullying and stress.

We will discuss how to deal with suspected ‘sickies’ and abuse of sick leave. Find out how to engage in ‘carefrontation’ with staff to reduce absenteeism.

Our employment lawyer will guide you on best practice for supporting staff on their return to work. We will respond to health and safety queries: When can you require a staff member to take sick leave? How can you comply with health and safety during COVID-19?

If extended sick leave is disrupting your workplace, find out how to follow proper processes for terminating for medical retirement or medical incapacity, with case law for guidance.

In this practical course, find out how to follow best practice, so you can communicate with absent staff, seek medical information, and support their return to work.
