Join HRNZ Auckland branch & Duncan Cotterill for an HR101 on an informative session about sick leaves and medical incapacity.
HRNZ is pleased to partner with Duncan Cotterill to present the first HR101 session of 2023. Jeremy Ansell, Senior Associate, and Lilli Wilkinson, Solicitor, will be running an informative “how to” session on navigating the hurdles of handling employee sick leave and incapacity, broadly covering the following:
- Asking for proof of sickness
- Managing absenteeism
- How to approach medical incapacity
- Common problems, and recommended solutions
Attendees will leave this session more confident in running HR process with employees on this topic, and managing legal risk to their businesses.
Our Presenters
Jeremy Ansell, Senior Associate
Jeremy is a Senior Associate in Duncan Cotterill’s employment team and has practised employment law for 10 years. He primarily advises employer clients on all aspects of employment law, including the resolution of personal grievances, dealing with tricky staff behaviour and performance issues, restructuring processes and compliance matters. He has represented clients in the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court. He also has experience assisting clients with investigations and professional discipline (Law Society and Education Council) matters. He often provides media commentary on employment law matters.
Lilli Wilkinson, Solicitor
Lilli is a Solicitor in Duncan Cotterill's Employment team. She works with a number of employer and employee clients across a broad range of industries, ranging from small businesses to large corporates, to provide practical advice in respect of compliance across all employment processes. She advises on a range of issues including disciplinary processes, restructuring and redundancy, restraint of trade issues, and assisting with the defence of Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court claims.
