The Government has announced the proposed framework for a new Fair Pay Agreement (FPA) system in New Zealand. Employers and employees would be required to agree on a ‘floor’ for terms and conditions of employment in an industry. Australia and much of Western Europe employ similar systems, as did New Zealand before the Employment Contracts Act 1991.

The Canterbury HRNZ branch are excited to hold this event facilitated by Duncan Cotterill Partner Sarah Townsend, and Associate Jonny Sanders to discuss this new proposed framework. They will cover:

- Details in and around the proposed Fair Pay Agreements

- Insights into the implications and effects of Fair Pay Agreements

- Next steps in the legal process

About our Presenters

Sarah and Jonny are employment law experts and work full time in this space. They work closely with clients from a wide range of industries and provide solutions focused advice. They have significant experience advising clients on all aspects of employment law, from disciplinary and performance processes, bullying complaints, restructuring and redundancy, managing illness and absences, advising on Holidays Act issues, and representing clients facing personal grievance claims. They have significant experience representing clients at mediation, in the Employment Relations Authority and Employment Court.
