2022 has been a roller-coaster year for HR practitioners and employers hoping to employ migrant workers, with numerous policy changes to contend with. The border reopening has been great news for some, but the new Accredited Employer Work Visa system has brought a number of challenges, both in terms of managing the system itself, but also in terms of seriously limiting the ability to secure work visas for low and mid-skilled roles. Rachael Mason, Immigration Specialist from Lane Neave will provide a comprehensive summary of the current state of play in the immigration space. The session will include a summary of the key policy requirements for the main work visas that employers can make use of and insights and tips gained over the early months of the new system. The session will address issues such as:
- A summary of the main work visa categories available to employers and how they can be utilised
- Focus on Accredited Employer Work Visa applications and some do’s and don’ts when making applications
- Summary of potential policy changes to be aware of in 2023 and how to best prepare for those
- What steps employers and HR professionals can take now to make the most of the system
What participants will gain from the webinar: An up-to-date summary for HR professionals and employers on the current system, including current pain points and opportunities and how it will impact your ability to recruit and retain migrant worker staff. Whether you are an employer with a large number of migrant workers or have just one or two migrant worker employees, this session is a must-view.
There will also be time for questions and answers.
