Inclusive teams are high-performing teams. Higher levels of behavioural flexibility are associated with more inclusiveness, greater openness to change and better wellbeing. Allies are an important part of creating inclusive environments. This webinar discusses why allies are a powerful way to create culture change and shares quick tips for acting as an ally. It’s an opportunity to open up more conversations about allyship at work including why this work matters and why we need to focus on the system.

The first step is the hardest because it means that even when something is fine for us, we’re able to see how someone else is being excluded or marginalised.

Participants will:

  • Learn how to recognise your own privileges and build awareness of marginalisation
  • Learn effective ways to kick-start the allyship journey at your organisation
  • See examples of how to act as an ally through real-world scenarios (situational and systemic)
  • Received resources to further their learning in this space

Presented by Erica Austin - Ally Skills NZ

Erica Austin is an experience curator, social entrepreneur, digital storyteller, community weaver as well as a consultant and a facilitator for Ally Skills NZ. With a Master’s degree in Architecture, she understands complex systems and channels her system thinking skills into the many areas of work she gets involved in. She works with non-profit organisations, government agencies, education providers, and businesses offering creative solutions to help curate meaningful and inclusive experiences.

Cancellation Policy

An appropriate substitute participant is welcome any time before the webinar starts. Please let us know the replacement's name. If you have booked on a member price and a non member is to attend in your place you will be invoiced for the difference in price.

A refund of fees will be made if a cancellation is received in writing at least 10 working days prior to the commencement of the webinar.

Regrettably, no refunds can be made for cancellations received after this date and you are liable for the full cost of attendance at the webinar.
