Performance development is one of the most effective ways to improve productivity and a company’s profitability.
Yet global employers like Deloitte and Adobe abolished their annual performance reviews.
Why? Performance reviews are too often infrequent, inconsistent, and prone to manager biases – causing stress to both staff and managers. Many managers feel uncertain about giving constructive feedback or conducting performance reviews.
This half-day course focuses on improving performance review processes to motivate staff for success. Find out how to set clear and achievable goals. We will explore how to motivate Kiwi employees based on research, and what to include in performance reviews.
We will answer questions like: What are SMART goals and performance objectives? How can managers give frequent feedback to engage staff? How can you reduce manager biases for more objective and fair performance reviews?
Learn how to develop performance development frameworks to support a strong management team that openly communicates with its employees. Consider templates for performance reviews that you can apply in your organisation.
We will practise giving feedback and consider how to ensure consistency in feedback throughout your organisation.
Join our experienced employment law presenter Julia Shallcrass on this half day course that focuses on how to develop a framework to improve and motivate employee performance.
Participants will receive a digital workbook and can ask questions virtually and complete activities during the live seminar. This course involves Q&A and activities for you to discuss in small groups.

Julia Shallcrass is an employment lawyer who specialises in presenting on employment law and HR innovation. Julia upskills people managers and HR professionals on improving legal compliance, workplace culture and productivity.
