Perhaps your staff member is the wrong fit for the job, a poor performer, bully, or damaging your company’s reputation.

Most employers will need to exit employees at some stage but are unsure how to do it properly.

Too many employers fail to exit staff despite grounds for dismissal, for fear the employee will raise a personal grievance.

In this course, find out how to manage the exit of problem employees with less stress. We will focus on the legal and practical points around managing the exit, so that you keep your team company reputation intact.

We will answer your questions around exiting staff, such as: What must you do before exiting for poor performance or serious misconduct? How do you reduce legal risk when negotiating an exit settlement? What should you include in the settlement agreement?

Consider how to protect company reputation and property when a difficult employee leaves your organisation. We will discuss terms of settlement to protect company property and reputation, including for senior employees.

Find out how to resolve employment relationship problems through negotiation and at mediation for a successful outcome.

This course will give you a comprehensive overview of considerations upon exiting staff. Join employment lawyer Julia Shallcrass on this virtual half day course. We will explore case law and case studies to show you how to properly exit problem employees.

Attendees will receive a digital workbook including activities and can ask questions virtually during the live seminar. This course involves Q&A and activities for you to discuss in small groups.

This course complements our Managing Poor Performers course which focuses on the performance review process.

Who is this course for?

This course is useful for all HR professionals, particularly those in their first 5 years of practice, or those who want the confidence to effectively exit an employee.
