The one constant in our lives is change. In our personal life, in the organisations we work in, in the people we work with and manage and with how we will work in the future. The need for a vision that is robust and right is a certainty. But we must be agile in how we obtain it. The HRNZ Summit is a one day workshop aimed at starting the conversation and providing a roadmap on how to build a practical vision for HR - what will the future of work look like, and what challenges does this place on HR.
Facilitated by Dr David Keane the one day summit held in Queenstown will provide a mix of inspiring speakers, practical case studies and interactive sessions. Keeping them local and relevant, our Summit will aim to clear all the noise about what’s in store for the Future of HR, demystify some ‘truths’ and start your road map to prepare for the future.
HRNZ will only hold the one summit in Queenstown this year. The HRNZ Summit is brought to you by the Human Resources New Zealand (HRNZ), the professional body for those who are interested in or involved in Human Resource Management and development of people.

8.45am The Future of Work and Workplaces , Jo Cribb
Jo has a varied portfolio that includes working as a consultant facilitating strategy sessions with leadership teams, coaching emerging leaders and leading substantial policy, strategy and gender projects. Jo is regularly invited to deliver keynotes on gender equality, women and leadership and the future of work. Jo’s interest in the future of work and her subsequent research resulted in her co-authoring the book 'Don't Worry About the Robots: How to Survive and Thrive in the New World of Work'
Jo’s keynote will cover the trends affecting New Zealand workplaces and the implications for HR professionals. What are the new roles that HR people will need to play and what skills will these demand?

10.45am Agile HR, Katie Williams, Human Resources Director, Vodafone
Our HR Person of the Year Katie Williams will provide practical insights into the use of Agile in HR and discuss the broader application within organisations. A case study from Katie will help participants understand Agile in action.
11.30am The State of HR Technology in New Zealand, Nick McKissack, CEO, HRNZ
In this session participants will hear about the results of HRNZ’s research into HR technology, undertaken in conjunction with Victoria University. Be the first to hear what’s hot and what’s not when it comes to using software to support HR functions in New Zealand workplaces.
In the second half of the day we’ll have a change of pace and look at the topical issue of attracting and retaining top talent. What is going to be needed in the future to ensure we attract the right people, with right skills.
1.15pm Building a world class employee experience, Ryan Ghisi, General Manager of Global People Programmes, Xero
Xero's world class employee experience hasn't come about by accident. Using continuous feedback from employees and the market, they've made data-driven decisions to launch initiatives that have increased engagement, satisfaction and retention. Come along to hear about some of their 'secret sauce'.
1.45pm The War for talent – changing talent pool, Rachael Mason, Partner, Lane Neave Lawyers
In a tightening job market, both for top talent and changing legislation, the fight to ensure you get the right people for the job has its challenges. In this session we will focus on what the Immigration changes mean for the future employment pool of foreign workers. We will provide tips for getting accredited as an Employer in order to recruit overseas talent. How do you demonstrate that you’re a Good Employer and meet the accreditation requirements. Where do Employers often fail and how can you make sure you succeed and maintain that all important accreditation. What are the broader considerations to address when recruiting migrant workers.
2.15pm Towards Inclusivity, Martin King, Director, Winter Pride
As Employers spread their net in terms of attracting the right talent there is an inevitable consequence of a more diverse workforce. In this session we’ll explore how to achieve higher levels of inclusion in the workplace when faced with a broader range of cultural, physical and social needs amongst your employees.

3.15pm Wellbeing that works! Bridget Jelley, Registered Psychologist, and Director of The Effect
In this session we will hear about how to take a proactive strategic approach to mental health and wellbeing in the workplace. There are a raft of initiatives out there and its about how to find the right one for your organisation. This presentation will also provide the most recent research about mental health and wellbeing in the workplace, so we can fully understand the true picture of what it is that we have to manage as organisations.
At the conclusion of these afternoon sessions participants will have an opportunity to participate in a break-out session with one of our four presenters.
3.45pm Q&A with Keynote speakers
In this session participants will get to ask questions of one of the afternoons keynote speakers in a small group setting.
4.15pm Your Success, Dr David Keane
In our final session of the day, we’ll talk about how you can be more successful in your personal and professional life in 2020 by adopting some simple tools and techniques for adopting highly effective behaviours.
5.00pm - 6.30pm Summit concludes. Join us for a Cocktail Function to end the day and continue the conversation

- If you are unable to attend and written notification is received at HRNZ National Office on or prior to 5pm on 17 October 2019, a refund of registration fees less a cancellation fee of $120.00 +GST will be issued. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to cancel
- After 5pm on 17 October 2019, no refunds will be issued.
- Delegate substitutions are permitted up to and including the day prior to the conference commencement. Please advise email@example.com immediately of any such amendments.
- Payment is due upon registration. If payment is not made before commencement of the conference, HRNZ reserves the right to cancel registration, however you will still be liable for the debt incurred.
