Join our Organisational Development panel conversation aimed at answering the question “What is OD”?

HRNZ Wellington would like to invite you to a panel conversation aimed at answering the question “What is OD”?

This session will explore the differences and similarities between core HR and OD and the skill set and experience needed to successfully transition to OD roles. The panel will also explore what “great OD” looks like from their perspective, sharing experiences and success stories from across their careers.

Our panel will include:

Janine Hearn - GM Organisational Development, CAA

Kellie Houlton - Head of Organisational Development, ACC

Rob Heaney - Managing Director, ORG.SDP

About our Speakers

Janine Hearn

Janine is currently the General Manager, Organisational Development with the Civil Aviation Authority. She has held senior OD and HR leadership roles in a number of State sector organisations including Immigration New Zealand, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, New Zealand Fire Service and Worksafe New Zealand. She was one of the members of the senior leadership team appointed to establish Worksafe New Zealand when it was created in December 2013, following the Pike River Mining Tragedy and the Independent Taskforce on Workplace Health and Safety.

Kellie Houlton

Kellie has a background in psychology and has held senior leadership roles in both the public and private sector where she has led a range of people change initiatives.  She is passionate about employee experience, leadership, diversity and generally making organisations even better places to work. Kellie is currently the Head or Organisational Development for ACC and has over 20 years experience working across the breadth of Human Resources functions in core Public Sector Agencies, Financial Services and Crown Entities.

Rob Heaney

Rob has over 17 years experience working within and consulting to private, public and not-for-profit sector organisations. Rob's experience in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom includes Defence, Education, Energy, Financial Services, Government, Health, Telco and other industries. Rob has held senior management positions in Organisational Strategy and Governance, Human Resources, and Information Technology. Most recently Rob was a senior Director for PwC NZ, and national lead for PwC's People & Organisation Advisory Services.

Who should attend

This event is useful for students, new to a role and any practitioner wanting to understand the skills and approach required by organisations around best practice OD


Fees will be due for payment in full for each branch event, and are non-refundable unless cancellation has been confirmed by email to at least two working days before the event.

Cancellations and Refunds

To receive a full refund cancellations must be received by HRNZ by email to two working days before the day of the event.

Cancellations after this time and/or 'no shows' on the day will be payable in full.
