Holly will discuss some of the myths about domestic violence that lead to common pitfalls of employers’ response to domestic violence. Participants will be walked through some of Shine’s key essential recommendations from the DVFREE Guidelines on Policy and Procedures for employers’ domestic violence staff programmes, which cover policy, procedures, information for staff, training for key staff, and awareness raising for all staff. To illustrate points, Holly will share experiences of DVFREE Tick partner organisations and trainees and stories from former Shine clients.

Attendees will gain an understanding of key steps to take to improve the support provided for their staff who experience domestic violence, and to be better prepared to respond safely and effectively to staff who perpetrate domestic violence.
