Due to COVID-19 pandemic all of us are living with varying degrees of uncertainty. The shift to Level 2 and beyond is bringing new challenges and a new wave of uncertainty. We worry about the future, the safety of our loved ones, and about our own safety and security at this time. Uncertainty brings up fear and generates anxiety.
During this 60 minute session, Maya will explain what happens in our brain when faced with uncertainty and she will share some simple, evidence based mindful strategies to help you to reduce stress and calm the nervous system.
Mindful awareness is about learning to pay attention, in the present moment, and without judgment. This reduces our tendency to work on autopilot, allowing us to choose how we respond & react. Mindfulness teaches us to respond calmly to situations and stressors, to recognize our unhealthy mental and emotional habits, to become more patient and tolerant, less judgmental and kinder to others and ourselves.
- Understand what happens in your brain when faced with the stress of uncertainty
- Understand the difference between anxiety, worry and stress and learn practical tools and techniques how to manage them
- Learn about mindfulness and how it can support you at this time by helping you to stay calm, focused and present.
- Learn simple breathing techniques to help you self-regulate and calm the body and mind by activating your parasympathetic nervous system.
- Learn how you can support your people during this time
