Helen Te Hira (Te Rarawa, Te Aupouri, Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Whātua, Ngāti Kahu) is a senior and experienced organisational development professional who has worked internationally in the UN system on indigenous issues, globalisation, migration and women’s rights. Her career in New Zealand has focussed on industrial relations, and growing the public sector management and leadership capability to engage with Te Ao Māori. She recently authored the first comprehensive Local Government employment strategy for Māori at Auckland Council. In her free time she enjoys learning Thai and volunteering with various community career development and mentoring organisations for new migrants to Aotearoa. She is the General Manager Kaupapa Māori for Regional Facilities Auckland.
