Dr Jarrod Haar - Professor Human Resource Management, Auckland University of Technology
Dr Jarrod Haar (PhD) has tribal affiliations with Ngati Maniapoto and Ngati Mahuta. He is a Professor of Human Resource Management at Auckland University of Technology. His research focuses on (1) work-family and work-life balance, (2) Māori employees and Mātauranga Māori, (3) leadership, (4) wellbeing, and (5) R&D, entrepreneurship, and innovation. Professor Haar is a world-class ranked researcher under the New Zealand research system, has won Industry and best-paper awards; and multiple prestigious research grants (Marsden, FRST). He is currently a researcher on a 10-year National Science Challenge (Science for Technological Innovation), a co-leader of a 3-year Marsden grant (Living Wage) and a 3-year Health Research Council grant (Wellbeing and the precariat), and leads a 1-year Ngā Pae o te Māramatanga grant exploring Māori employee experiences of HRM. He has over 390 refereed outputs (including 105 journal articles) and serves on the Marsden Fund Council at the Royal Society of New Zealand and convenes the Economics and Human Behaviour Marsden panel.
