We need an HR professional, eager to support small businesses and make connections.

Essential HR are looking for a compassionate HR Consultant with a proven record of building strong connections, based on trust and the ability to make people feel heard.

The successful applicant will have the mental agility to tailor their approach and advice to each individual client, based on their unique structure, values and goals. Quick thinking is needed, as you will work with several different clients within each day.

Essential HR is renowned for getting alongside our clients, “holding their hand” where needed, guiding and coaching them through processes and issues. We are Essentially part of their business and act accordingly, while ensuring that they receive the correct expert advice.

What will your day look like?

In this position, you will be expected to build relationships and introduce new clients to our services. You will have specific responsibility for growing our client base in the North Canterbury area, basing yourself there at least once or twice a fortnight.

You will use your natural ability for building and maintaining relationships to enhance the constant flow of work and the retention of our clients.

The majority of your week will be occupied giving quality advice to clients, covering a wide range of HR issues.  Our client base are SME’s and you will work with many different types of people, business owners and managers in a wide range of different industries.

Our services also include some holistic big picture strategic discussions.

  • Significant Generalist HR experience (ideally in a consultancy capacity)

While we are ideally looking for one person to fill a full-time role, we will consider filling the position with two people on part-time hours.
