About the role

The Port is in a period of growth, both in terms of major capital programme and operational activity and has grown to the size that it requires focused and specialist people experience at the senior level.  This new created role of GM People & Culture is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), reporting to the Chief Executive.

GM People & Culture will have responsibility at both the strategic and functional level for overall administration, coordination and evaluation of human resources, plans, policy, strategy, and programs across the organisation. 

Specifically, this will include developing, in collaboration with the SLT, the overall People Strategy and take responsibility for its execution. Taking accountability for delivery of a wide range of initiatives including: workforce planning, culture change, attracting, and developing talent, organisational development, lifting capability and performance, delivering payroll and providing robust HR/ER advice.

About you

You will come with proven experience in a senior HR leadership role with a track record in the development and execution of impactful people & culture outcomes in a growing organisation and potentially in a similar type of environment.

You will have the ability to effectively participate at the senior leadership level and a skill set that supports building strong relationships with colleagues and multiple stakeholders, including unions, to build high levels of trust.  Combined with this you will thrive on culture change and know how to support and enable leaders across an organisation.
