Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor (Fixed Term) - Animates


We have a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and passionate health, safety and wellbeing specialist to step in and cover our HSW Advisor while they’re on parental leave. (30 hours per week)

Partnering with a friendly and supportive People & Capability team, you will be our safety ambassador and wellbeing expert, making our vision of safety come to life.

We are seeking a highly motivated, solutions-focused individual with a demonstrated passion to share their contagious enthusiasm for safety and to continue to lead and shape our safety culture.  In this varied and flexible role no two days will be alike as you educate, coach and support our team to embed a generative safety culture.  Our Support Office is located in Ellerslie however we support flexible working arrangements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing and supporting the appropriate assessment and control of risk across the business including follow up of corrective actions and communicating learnings in a positive and constructive manner;
  • Coaching and supporting managers to identify learning opportunities and ensuring continuous safety improvements;
  • Partnering with the L&D Manager to review, develop and maintain a comprehensive ongoing education program;
  • Developing and maintaining meaningful reporting to drive safety behaviours and ensure timely oversight of our risk profile and safety culture;
  • Driving best practice health and safety management and engagement across the network and recognising success;
  • Leading a robust relationship management process, including PCBU duties and team member participation;
  • Continuous management and improvement of our health and safety system and ensuring ongoing compliance with workplace health and safety regulations;
  • Maintaining a comprehensive safety management framework against established models including ongoing review of HSW policies and procedures.

To be successful you will be more than technically competent and qualified; you will have the ability to really engage and influence our team to increase participation and engagement in health, safety and wellbeing, lead safety initiatives, increase safety awareness and education and embed safety behaviours in everyday practice.
