HR Advisor / Senior HR Advisor - Whitireia & Weltec
We have an exciting opportunity for an HR Advisor or a Senior HR Advisor to help shape an environment that in undergoing an exciting transformational phase. Our immediate team is a great social bunch, that work across our regional Wellington campuses in Petone, Porirua and Wellington City.
About the role - Te kaupapa
This HR Advisor role is responsible for delivering high quality advice and support to managers and staff whereas the Senior HR Advisor will be more involved with projects and improvement to continue to deliver business demands and service delivery. Reporting to the People Services Manager, you will work collaboratively with the wider People Services team using an account management model.
We are currently engaged in various initiatives to align the systems and practices of WelTec and Whitireia. In this generalist role there will be opportunity for you to gain exposure to many aspects of HR and organisation wide initiatives.
Whilst you will have a primary location, you will be required to work at other campuses and locations across the Wellington region from time to time.

We need someone in this role who has a excellent verbal and written communication skills, a positive attitude and plenty of initiative. With your general business acumen and problem solving skills your advice will be focused towards achieving the best outcomes possible.
To be successful in this position you will ideally have the following:
- At least two years' experience in an HR Advisory role or four years' experience in a Senior HR Advisory role with sound working knowledge of current HR practices and New Zealand Employment legislation
- Good judgement and able to see the bigger picture
- Able to foster a positive culture in a changing environment
- Clear and confident communication style
- A flexible and adaptable working style and willingness to work individually and as a team player
- Able to identify gaps or opportunities to improve our HR provision
- A tertiary qualification in a related field is preferred
