As an experienced HR professional, you will align as a business partner supporting managers in the delivery of day-to-day operations alongside people related culture and change initiatives aimed at improving performance, lifting capability and connecting all areas of the business to work more effectively.
Reporting to the People Services Manager you will work closely with the business to coach, guide and advise managers on a broad range of issues across a breadth of people related services including change management, organisational development, succession planning, leadership development, performance management, and employment relations. There is huge variety and stretch in this role.
You will also play a pivotal role in the continuous improvement of high-quality human resource processes, policies, and strategies which support the development and delivery of services that contribute to the successful achievement of the Department's strategy Hōkai Rangi.

To deliver effectively in this key role you will demonstrate the following:
- A proven ability to proactively develop, foster and maintain excellent working partnerships and relationships with stakeholders and management at all levels
- Experience in the development and delivery of strategies aimed at continuously improving the capability and wellbeing of our people
- Experience in generalist HR/ER working in a complex and demanding environment
- Puts people before process and encourages others to do the same
- Please be advised that this position may include regular travel within the portfolio groups to which you will be assigned. A full Driver Licence is required.
Utu ā-tau | Salary
The salary band for this role is between $91,953 to $129,816. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
