Learning and Development Coordinator - Hohepa Hawke’s Bay


We seek a skilled and highly organised Learning and Development Coordinator, to join our small HR team based in Clive on a full time basis. 

Hōhepa is a therapeutic community based on the work of Rudolf Steiner, providing support for people with intellectual disabilities with the aim of enabling them to live as independently as possible; our mission is ‘every life fully lived’.

This position in the HR team is perfect for someone with a generalist HR background, high attention to detail, strong time management skills and who enjoys working on multiple projects. 

The main focuses of the role are:

  • Working with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate training programmes for staff.
  • Supporting managers with performance related issues.
  • Identifying business learning needs and assisting to develop training programmes to address these needs.

To be successful you will need to:

  • Have some good practical HR knowledge and experience, to be able to provide sound advice to managers and staff.
  • Be able to plan, prioritise and follow through to ensure tasks are completed; a sense of ownership and willingness to be accountable are essential.
  • Have great attention to detail, with the ability to achieve high levels of accuracy in data entry and provision of information.
  • Have very good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be able to establish and maintain rapport with the people we support at Hōhepa, staff and external stakeholders/customers.
  • Be a confident user of business software (including Word to intermediate or advanced level, Excel, PowerPoint and databases).
  • Be proactive, self-motivated, and able to meet deadlines and targets, with a “can do” attitude.
  • Be willing to work within the principles and practices of anthroposophy as they apply to work in the HR team; this includes respect for the uniqueness of each individual.
