About the role

Tautoko Mai is a sexual harm support service located in the beautiful Bay of Plenty and Waikato. We have experienced considerable growth and are looking for a People and Culture Advisor to join our team. This new role will be based in the stunning region of Tauranga Moana. The purpose of the People and Culture Advisor role is to support the Leadership Team to deliver Tautoko Mai strategic goals and initiatives. The role will also help to provide a positive employee experience, supporting employees through the employment lifecycle providing them with advice and information. This generalist position provides support to Managers for recruitment, induction, payroll administration, health and wellbeing, employment relation issues and other projects as required.

About you

To be considered for this role you will have a qualification in Human Resource Management or similar and experience in a People and Culture (HR) role. You will have knowledge of current legislation relevant to this field of practice. The role is broad, with responsibilities ranging from human resource administration activity through to supporting strategy development, and everything in between. This will be very satisfying to someone who is passionate about People and Culture function within an organisation. 

Ideally you will have experience working across all aspects of Human Resource Management and an interest in working in the for purpose/not for profit sector. You will have highly developed interpersonal skills, bring enthusiasm and a proven ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively, and an ability to relate to people form diverse backgrounds.

It is essential that you have knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, knowledge and use of tikanga and te reo Māori, and the ability to conduct oneself appropriately within a bicultural context.
