Community Living is a for-purpose organisation that is on an exciting transformation journey. This leader in New Zealand’s disability support sector is seeking a People & Culture Manager within the Organisational Capability & Development team. This pivotal role will be involved in guiding Community Living in its change journey as it repositions its brand and service offerings to focus on its new purpose - people with disabilities thriving as part of the community.

Given the organisational growth in the past year, this role is responsible for leading the People & Culture (HR) function across the organisation. 

Key Responsibilities

  • People & Culture Leadership:  Champion best practice people and culture leadership across our values based organisation.
  • Relationship Management: Proactive partnerships are developed and maintained with key stakeholders, ensuring buy-in and organisational cohesion.
  • Change Leadership: Effective organisational change leadership through empowerment and collaboration.

Candidate Profile

  • At least 7 years’ experience providing people & culture/HR advice to leaders
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Significant change leadership experience
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Pragmatic, solution focused approach with well-developed critical thinking and judgment
  • Ability to engage, challenge and inspire with strong communication and influencing skills
  • A team player
  • Well-developed planning and organising skills
  • Understanding of Government and how the NGO sector funding operates (desirable)
  • Resilience, integrity and commitment to social justice
  • Understanding and appreciation of cross cultural matters, in particular knowledge of tikanga Māori and Pacific peoples’ culture
  • Holder of a full, clean NZ drivers licence
  • Ability to satisfactorily meet a Ministry of Justice check
  • COVID-19 vaccinated, in line with the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Vaccinations) Order 2021
