We have hundreds of clients ranging from employers with one employee to hundreds right across the South Island. Our Director, Mike Johnson had a vision twelve years ago to start a company to support small to medium sized businesses better manage their most valuable resource, their people.
About the role
The role is a varied and interesting HR Adviser role. As a consultancy we have clients in many different industries, from one-man bands to a handful of large organisations, which makes for many and varied people puzzles to be worked through on a frequent basis. There will be days you spend entirely preparing documentation for employers and other days when you are meeting with people helping solve some very stressful situations and bringing reconciliation - really making a difference in their businesses.
The Ashburton District is clearly our growth area and we are looking to have someone based there – bolstering our presence and increasing our ability to serve; this person could live anywhere between Rolleston and Timaru really, as long as you don’t mind the commute. This is a part-time role, approx. 20 hours. Ideally we are looking for someone with flexibility in their hours to meet client deadlines or the need to travel at specific times to attend meetings with lawyers and mediators.
The person we are looking for needs to be a very special individual. We need you to be an experienced HR practitioner, with a good work ethic and who is confident in advising clients on good faith procedures that really meet their needs. In return, you can expect to work with a really great team, with shared values. This role is one where the world is your oyster. We are looking for someone who is passionate, who will go the extra mile for our clients and who can use their initiative, work independently but also be a very important part of our team. Plus someone who is happy working alone for much of the time, you will have support when you need it though.
Skills & experience
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Sound generalist HR experience at an advisory level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The confidence or ability to network
- A solid understanding of the Employment Relations Act, Holiday’s Act and other employment related legislation
- Previous marketing experience would be ideal.
