Auckland Senior Manager

About

  • 1000+ kaimahi, over 100 centres
  • Make a lasting contribution for tamariki and whānau
  • Both hands-on and strategic role across full HR function

This is a rare opportunity to join the iconic Auckland Kindergarten Association (AKA), and support excellence in ECE for all tamariki.  For over 100 years the AKA has been at the forefront of early childhood education, and now educates more than 10,000 tamariki annually with over 100 kindergartens as well as its KiNZ early learning centres and playgroups.

As our GM People and Capability, you will lead across all aspects of human resources including employment relations, recruitment, health and safety and organisational development.  With a team of approx. seven staff (including contractors) you will drive organisational capability and leadership across the organisation.  You will ensure that HR practices, leadership and communications are strong, so that our people feel valued and well informed.  As part of our ELT, you will be committed to our equity journey, and to a workplace that embraces diversity, inclusion and accountability for performance, and fosters excellent stakeholder relationships.

Your expertise in all areas of HR including employment relations and experience within unionised environments, will have prepared you for this challenge.  You thrive on culture change and know how to support and enable leaders across an organisation, and are as comfortable being hands on as you are working strategically.

Your style is energetic, practical and results oriented.  You are naturally collaborative and able to motivate, influence, and hold leaders to account.  Your commitment to the AKA kaupapa, and to the difference we make for tamariki and whānau will be fundamental to your success in the role.
