We at HRNZ are passionate about unleashing the potential of the people that power NZ workplaces.
History
HRNZ was formed on 1 April 1999 as a result of the rebranding of the Institute of Personnel Management New Zealand (IPMNZ).
The parent body, IPMNZ, was established in 1985 as a result of a move away from the New Zealand Institute of Management. Previously the two bodies operated under the one broad umbrella. Different membership needs and requirements led to the establishment of a separate body focussed solely on the role of the human resources professional, and the advancement of that profession.
HRNZ continues this focus reflecting the realities of the contemporary human resources environment.
