Ko te tīma - About your team 

The Head of People and Culture provides leadership and direction to WorkSafe Mahi Haumaru’s People & Culture function. The function is made up of passionate, people centric individuals with teams in HR Advisory; Recruitment; Organisational Development; and Payroll and HR Systems.  

This role will also sit on the Corporate Leadership Team.  

Ō te tūranga - About the role 

Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive Corporate, the Head of People and Culture will lead a team of HR professionals, ensuring quality and consistency of advice and practices about kaimahi related activities.  

This role will lead these professionals in changing the game and delivering next generation people centric thinking and services to kaimahi and leaders.  

Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do  

  • Provide strategic and operational direction and oversight to the People and Culture function, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of services.
  • Build, monitor and maintain fit for purpose capability needed to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Lead a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Provide expertise, coaching and leadership to the People and Culture leadership team.

  • Proven experience operating in a senior leadership role within a large organisation.
  • Demonstrated success in creating and leading effective people and culture teams in a complex environment.
  • A people-first, customer centre and future focused approach.
  • An ability to think strategically and make connections between various aspects of the organisation.
  • A willingness to inspire and invest in the team, uplifting capability and a thriving environment.

Awhe utu - Salary range 

As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $204,447 to $269,463. Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional to/on top of your base salary.
