Located in Rangiora, North Canterbury, the Waimakariri District Council is seeking a motivated Human Resources Coordinator to join our team on a fixed-term basis until February 2026. Role Overview
In this Human Resources Coordinator position, you will play a vital role in supporting the HR team in coordinating and delivering HR services for the organisation. Your proactive approach means you are able to identify and prioritise tasks and liaise with members of the HR team and the wider organisation. This fixed-term role provides additional resource to the team during a busy time of implementing a new HRIS system.
This role is fixed-term part-time, 25-30 hours per week as agreed with the successful candidate.
As this role is advertised over the Christmas Holiday period, interviews will be scheduled during the w/c 27 January 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR team, ensuring smooth and efficient HR functions.
- Coordinate recruitment processes, including advertising vacancies, scheduling interviews, reference checking and onboarding new employees.
- Draft offer documentation and variations for new and existing employees.
- Assist with the implementation / review of HR procedures, particularly ensuring our Intranet is up to date and staff have access to latest information.
- Maintain accurate HR records and manage data entry related to employee information and payroll processing.
About You
To excel in this role, you will possess excellent communication skills and a keen attention to detail. Ideal candidates will have:
- Previous experience in a HR administrative or coordinator role, preferably in a public sector or service-focused organisation.
- A sound understanding of HR principles and practices
- Proficiency in HR software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with the capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach, with an eagerness to contribute to team objectives and initiatives.
- A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive information with discretion.
