What led you to a career in HR/ the position that you are in currently?   

I studied an Honours degree in Human Resources at uni and haven’t looked back! I liked the idea of being in a role where I could positively impact workplace culture and support the growth of businesses and their people. 

What do you love about working in HR?   

I love the variability – every day is different! People are so unique, so there’s no black and white answer, and a level of problem solving needs to be applied to each situation and conversation

What is an achievement so far in your career that you are proud of?   

Employment Relations has been a key interest since I started in HR, and I am quite proud of my growth in this area recently. With the support of my Manager I have broadened my ER skillset in a short amount of time and have since received a promotion to HR Advisor.

What are your thoughts on the Emerging Professional Member process?   

Excellent – applying for Emerging Professional Membership has allowed me to check in with where I am in my career journey, see my growth over the last few years, and highlight areas I can continue to develop.

Do you plan to now work towards becoming a Chartered Member?   

Yes, definitely. 

What are your next steps in terms of your career?   

In the future I would like to move toward a strategic Business Partner role. For now, I am enjoying my time at Giltrap Group and my current focus is on building experience and deepening my knowledge across the various HR functions.
