Amy Raine
Amy Raine

Amy is a Human Resources professional who graduated First in Class with a Masters in Human Resource Management from the University of Auckland. In 2022 she was awarded HRNZ’s Student of the Year award, which recognizes students who show a strong potential for work in the HR space. Amy first studied and held a career as a Veterinary Nurse, which led her to The Strand Veterinarian, while completing study in Human Resources. Due to previous experience in managerial roles in the veterinary industry and an aptitude for connecting with the veterinary professional team, she began to take on HR related functions such as staff check ins and roster planning as well as taking part in conversations around bringing HR and wellbeing practice into this small business. Upon graduating from her Masters in HRM, Amy became the first Practice Manager of The Strand Veterinarian – with the view that she would help build the Human Resources processes and capability as they entered the “medium-sized enterprise” space, and gain a comprehensive understanding of managing all aspects of a MBE. Since graduating in 2022, Amy has worked together with Dr Megan Alderson and Dr Justine Alley to build HR practices at The Strand Vet, strategising, implementing, and measuring wellbeing metrics and financial key performance indicators.
