HRNZ Member Voice Survey – HR Trends 2022

Member Updates Industry News

This year HRNZ’s Academic Branch carried out its annual survey - Member Voice – for the second year.

This year HRNZ’s Academic Branch carried out its annual survey - Member Voice – for the second year. This survey is intended to become a longitudinal study of trends in the HR profession. In order to incorporate the new capability framework for HR professionals, The Path, some of the questions have been reworded very slightly in order to ensure this framework is reflected in the survey as we move forward into years three and beyond of the survey. For more information, visit The Path - The new Capability Framework for HR professionals.

Consistent with last year’s inaugural survey, the intent of the survey was to explore trends across the HR profession, and to gather information so that HRNZ can help support the development needs of its membership base and the wider profession.

This year we received 138 responses across a wide range of industries and organisation types, from professionals of all levels of HR throughout Aotearoa, New Zealand. Insights have been collected and summarized across three primary themes:

  • Reflection of HR functions and challenges under different HR specialist areas (17 Domains of Knowledge)
  • Reflection on HR capabilities and preparation for 2023
  • Comments and suggestions on what HRNZ could offer to serve the HR profession in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
