What led you to a career in HR/ the position that you are in currently?

I have a background in people management and empowering people, especially managers and leaders,  to use their skills more effectively was my favourite part of my role. 

What do you love about working in HR?

The complexity and problem solving! No two days are the same, and you get such a variety of tools in your toolbox to flex and use in different ways. I love the people aspect too, we are all weird random humans and seeing that every day is a privilege. 

What are your thoughts on the Emerging Professional Member process?

It’s awesome! I did the competency test first which helped me see “oh wow I actually do know some stuff.” The process was a fun exercise in reflection on what I have achieved. 

Do you plan to now work towards becoming a Chartered Member?

Definitely! Currently working on my application ;) 

What are your next steps in terms of your career?
I love the organisation (MyHR) I am working for currently, we are growing rapidly and so there are a tonne of opportunities. I am particularly passionate about the intersection of strategy, culture, and leadership and looking at doing more consultancy work in that space, particularly exec & senior leadership development.
