About
Professional Teaching Fellow - The University of Auckland
My career objective is to contribute to the field of human resource management through research, teaching, and practice. My PhD research focused on the impact of implementation of HRM practices by supervisors on work engagement, job crafting, and job performance of employees. Prior to my doctoral studies, I worked for a large Indian manufacturing conglomerate (Trident Ltd.) for around 10 years in the strategy and HRM area.
I have been teaching at the University of Auckland Business School since February 2014, on various courses related to business, general management, strategic management, and HRM. I am Subject Group Lead of Management at the Business School (since April 2022) and Programme Director of our Master of Business Management programme (since July 2024). My teaching and service philosophy is centered around making a meaningful contribution towards creating the future workforce. I serve as President of Academic Branch of HRNZ (since Oct 2020) and a committee member of Auckland Branch (since April 2016). I also serve as committee member of Women in Business Chapter of American Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand (since August 2024). I have been involved with mentoring staff and students in the past and continue to do so. On a personal front, I have a “can do” attitude towards life. I love to volunteer and am fully engaged in work that I find meaningful and challenging. I consider work environment as an important determinant of my own engagement and am always on the lookout for projects that are aligned with my needs and abilities.
I hope to support the development of my mentee through my expertise, experience, and networks, in navigating their careers and working life.
