About
I’m an executive level HR practitioner and leader who has spent her career in progressively more senior generalist HR roles, mainly in tertiary education environments in Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia. I have recently entered the self-employment, establishing my own consultancy HelmHR.
I have deep experience in business partnership, leading and navigating change, and employment relations. I’m a pragmatic people problem solver, and someone who is committed to exceptional HR service and an outstanding employee experience. I’ve been the Branch President of the Otago HRNZ Branch (winner of Branch of the Year in 2022 and finalist in the same category in 2021 and 2023), and won the 2023 HRNZ Leadership and HR Person of the Year awards.
I’m a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend – and finding the balance of all of those roles alongside being a leader and colleague is an ongoing learning experience for me.
I’m keen to help people who are also figuring out what balance looks like to them.
I’m also interested in supporting people to establish their own brand of HR and maximise their impact; to navigate some of the challenges and opportunities of generalist/business partnership HR roles, and/or who are supporting organisations navigating a changing environment.
