Join us for an enlightening panel discussion on AI and how it’s shaping the future of work in Aotearoa. The event will featuring four industry leaders at the forefront of integrating artificial intelligence into human resources practices. This event will explore how AI is revolutionising the HR landscape, from recruitment, onboarding to well-being, learning and development, performance management, and employee experience. We will discuss how AI will shape the future workforce in Aotearoa; What do HR professionals need to focus on to support businesses through this transformation, and what do HR/OD professionals need to do to re-invent themselves.

Melissa Crawford

Director of Tech with Heart, where she helps companies with their future strategies. Melissa is passionate about people and organisational psychology. She was the first certified Metaverse Expert in NZ and a multi-award winner of HRNZ Leadership, HR Person of the Year 2022, and HRD Hotlist for 2023 and 2024.

Matt Krogstad
Matt Krogstad

CEO of Groov, a workplace science platform that lifts people & performance. Groov was co-founded by All blacks legend Sir John Kirwan, with the goal to positively impact 100 million lives, by supporting employees in their natural flow of work, and being a real-time sensor to help leaders and managers better understand their teams and people. Prior his role at Groov, Matt has led Product Management at San Francisco-based startups.

Isuru Fernando
Isuru Fernando

Isuru works for Microsoft as the NZ Digital Innovation Lead for Azure. Prior to this Isuru was at Google, bringing the best of Google Cloud & AI to New Zealand sitting on the Google Leadership team. Before Google, he was at IBM, as the Chief Design and Technology Officer for NZ and was previously the Head of Artificial Intelligence, where he established and grew the IBM Watson business. Isuru is also a co-founding Board Member of the NZ AI Forum and is an Advisor to the World Economic Forum on AI Ethics and Human Design. Isuru is a published author in international journals and a resident lecturer

Dr Deepika Jindal
Dr Deepika Jindal

A Professional Teaching Fellow and Subject Group Lead for Management at the University of Auckland Business School. Recently, Deepika was the winner of first-ever Academic Impact Award at the 2023 NZ HR Awards. Deepika teaches Human Resources Management and related courses and is based within the Department of Management & International Business. Outside her role at the University, Deepika is Branch President of the Academic Branch of Human Resources New Zealand and an Auckland Branch Committee member. Prior to joining academia, she worked in an India manufacturing conglomerate, in their Corporate HR department for over a decade.
