One year into the new government term and there is no doubt that there have been some changes in the employment law landscape. There were some initial changes with Fair Pay Agreements removed and 90-day trial period re-introduced for all employers. But as promised by the Government, there is more to come.
This webinar will cover the other big moves in employment law in 2024 and looking forward to 2025:
1.The Whakaari White Island prosecutions and the health and safety takeaways for all PCBU from the court's findings.
2. 2024 also saw our first substantial decision in relation the Protected Disclosures (Protection of Whistleblowers) Act 2022: Bowen v Bank of New Zealand.
3. Proposed changes to the test for whether someone is an employee or a contractor.
4. Trends in the Employment Relations Authority.
Presented by Lane Neave Employment experts and Partners Andrew Shaw, Fiona McMillan and Andy Bell
