Domestic Violence - Victims' Protection Act

The Domestic Violence €“ Victims' Protection Act 2018 comes into effect today (1 April, 2019).The Act adds legal protections in the workplace for people affected by domestic violence. It gives employees affected by domestic violence the rights to:

• get 10 days of paid domestic violence leave per year
• ask for short-term flexible working for up to 2 months
• not be treated adversely €“ badly €“ at work because they might be affected by domestic violence.
