Biography:
Jonathan Black is a Chartered Organisational Psychologist and founding director of Farsight Limited. Jonathan started his career as a Psychologist with the New Zealand Police with responsibilities including occupational health of frontline staff, provision of specialist technical advice, and assisting decision-making and critical incident management response.
Since leaving Police in 2002 after an 8 year career he has worked in private practice in Wellington, Christchurch, and most recently in the Hawkes Bay where he shifted with his family in early 2019. His work traditionally revolves around advice and services in the areas of occupational health, risk management, communication and conflict, and performance coaching.
Jonathan has been involved with various emergency agencies over the years as a Consultant Psychologist, and was heavily involved with assisting businesses and staff respond and recover from the Christchurch earthquake cluster 2010-2011, the March 2019 Christchurch mass shooting, and has worked in the humanitarian sector with personnel from Australia and New Zealand deployed around the world in various challenging environments
