The Northland branch celebrated the end of 2019 with a breakfast event, featuring guest speaker Robert Towers.  Robert is a Chartered Fellow of HRNZ and was a founding member of the Northland Branch, who served in various committee roles for over 10 years, as well as two years on the National Board.  Robert currently works in a management role for a local business.

In his presentation, Robert shared his story along with some of the highlights of his career, and his learnings along the way.  He offered his advice for creating a solid HR career and presented his predictions of what’s likely to impact on HR and the impact this will have on the profession and our roles.  Robert shared one of his favourite quotes with us which bears thought …   “The ‘thing’ that got you your current role is the ‘thing’ that is holding you back from getting your next role!” – Ken Rivers, CEO, NZRC

Thank you Robert for an informative and insightful presentation and we’d like to extend best wishes to our members for a safe and happy festive season.  Thank you for your support during 2019.

In other Northland Branch news we are pleased to welcome Andrea O’Brien from Northpower and Michelle Clayton from Maungatapere Berries onto the committee for 2020.

- Barbara Jaques, HRNZ Committee Member.
